President's Park?

My daughter is interested in visiting President%26#39;s Park. With so much to do in CW, is it worth the trip?

President's Park?

Some find President%26#39;s Park an interesting place to visit, with large statues of each of the Presidents along with history about them. It%26#39;s not far from Colonial Williamsburg, but if time is of the essence, CW is the place to be.

There are reviews of President%26#39;s Park here on TA. Have a look at them to help you with your travel plans.

President's Park?

Short answer: NO!

Have you seen their website? http://www.presidentspark.org/index.html

There is simply no comparison with Williamsburg, and indeed parts of it look pretty silly (come on, CEMENT sculptures?). But it is very impressive that your daughter wants to visit. I would never discourage a child from pursuing an interest in history, and you%26#39;ll only be spending a couple of hours and maybe $25. Which compares favorably, in my opinion, with the time and money many people spend nearby on roller coasters and inflatable tubes!

To each her own....

Thanks, for the info! With the feedback we have received, I think we will add an extra day at CW, Jamestown or Yorktown. My daughter is 9, but this is her 10th trip to Williamsburg. We were just wondering if President%26#39;s Park was worth time and money. Before we knew of Tripadvisor we had a real letdown at Ripley%26#39;s. It%26#39;s nice to get some opinions before you try someplace new!

President%26#39;s Park is a rip-off.

A suggestion that I didn%26#39;t think of earlier: If your daughter has a keen interest in U.S. presidents why not take her for a drive down Rt. 5 into Charles City where 2 U.S. Presidents lived. She can learn about John Tyler at the Sherwood Forest Plantation and about William Henry Harrison at the Berkeley Plantation. Also Gen. Robert E. Lee was born at the Shirley Plantation.

Also, if you/she%26#39;s never been 2 hours away in Charlottesville there%26#39;s Monticello which was home to a President that we%26#39;re pretty partial to here in Virginia.
