Rainy Day Question

Hi Everyone...seems like there may be some days of rain next week for our trip to C-ville. I%26#39;m thinking that we%26#39;d do some wineries on those days and save Monticello, etc on days when the weather is a little nicer. Any other suggestions for rainy day fun? The downtown mall is a possibility if it%26#39;s just an occasional shower but we%26#39;re not sure how it%26#39;s going to be so we wanted some alternatives. Rotunda tour better on a nice day or doesn%26#39;t it matter? Also, which wineries are the best. We%26#39;re not experts, just enjoy the atmosphere and an occaional glass.

Thanks again for all your help.

Rainy Day Question

I just looked at the forecast :-( On the bright side, it%26#39;s very difficult to predict the weather here in advance because of the mountains. So, it could change for the better.

Check out the UVA Art Museum on campus and the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection at Peter Jefferson Place. The Second Street Gallery and McGuffey Art Center (both are close to the Downtown Mall, but closed on Mondays) show and sell the works of local artists. In addition, there are a few galleries and antique stores on the Downtown Mall. At the Monticello Visitors Center, there%26#39;s an exhibit on Thomas Jefferson%26#39;s time in Monticello and a documentary of his political career.

You have to walk outside from the parking lot to the Rotunda- across ';the Lawn';, but the Rotunda itself is all indoors.

Check out /www.monticellowinetrail.com for a list of wineries and any activities they have planned. Each place is unique and you can decide how far you want to travel.

Have a great trip.

Laura
