Are prices lower due to bad economy?

Wondering if anyone was finding any real good deals - meaning lower prices on hotels on the beach this year with the economy so bad or are people booking vacations regardless??

Check Sandbridge.com or siebertrealty.com. They rent beach houses in Sadnbridge. If you look at their specials there are discounted homes for either short stays or weekly rentals.

I got a real good deal for August 22nd for the week.

Thanks for the suggestion - but it%26#39;s only two of us and probably would not be worth it.

I haven%26#39;t noticed yet that hotel/suite type places%26#39; rates are lower. Millions come to VB and it%26#39;s the biggest busiest ciy in Va too so there%26#39;s a lot going on. I%26#39;ll see what I can find out but it looks like so far the hotels are still hopeful for what the summer might bring.

Have you checked the smaller units in the north end and resort area of VB? Click on ';Virginia Beach Hotels'; along the left here and then click on the vacations rentals tab.

Keep us posted about what you find out and we%26#39;ll do the same. I remember two years ago the Visitor%26#39;s Bureau was reservation central for lots of %26#39;extra%26#39; rooms the Virginia Beach resort facilities had left over. There was even a mention about it in the Washington Post. We got some great rates then. But I think that was a lot closer to summer and they didn%26#39;t do it last year as far as I know.

Thanks - I will definitely check that out and let you know. We did stay at the beach last year and the hotel we stayed in had many empty rooms - you can tell by the balconies that were not being used. I thought this year they might bring the price down but no such luck. Maybe we are better off waiting until summer kicks in and see if any prices are lower closer to when we would like to go.
