Hi
We are planning a bech vacation in August and are on a budget. We narrowed down our choices and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with these places
Siebert
All semi ocean front
Holsinger
Miller Hi Life
Spruill
These three look decent but I was hoping someone had seen or stayed in them before.
Sandbridge
Swan Song on Tuna Lane
Cox Legal Pad
These are bay homes are they decent?
Also there were two on Widgeon Lane I really liked but are they too far to walk to the ocean?
Thanks for any help!
Beach rental questions - hope you can help
I%26#39;ve never stayed in any of them but I%26#39;ll tell you that there%26#39;s really nothing in Sandbridge that%26#39;s too far to walk to the beach. Most houses are less than
3 or 4 blocks from the beach. The farthest ones out are the ones at the end of Wood Duck and Back Bay Crescent and they%26#39;re only 3/4 mile and they are kind of an exception. (you get a really nice Bay view for your trouble, though)
In my experience, there%26#39;s a lot of convenience in being oceanfront since you don%26#39;t have to put on shoes to go home. Once you have to walk 3 minutes, another 3 minutes isn%26#39;t really a big deal. I%26#39;ve never stayed more than 5 minutes from the beach, though.
If you%26#39;re on a tight budget you should consider going Bay/Canal since the streets aren%26#39;t as busy and you can have a pretty canal view. You also get a lot more house for your money and the lots tend to be bigger (more distance between you and your neighbors). That%26#39;s my $0.02, anyway.
Beach rental questions - hope you can help
Thanks. We stayed back bay about 6 years ago and it was a nice area. We were thinking of getting a place with an ocean view, but the back bay area is really pretty.
I%26#39;ve never stayed at any of the places you mentioned above, so I can%26#39;t offer any input on those particular homes.
However, I did stay at Dolphins Rest (semi-oceanfront) through Siebert. It%26#39;s in the same price range of those you listed above and the house was very well kept, clean and we were vary pleased.
The locations are all great for a quick walk right across the street from the beach, in my opinion the location is excellent. It just depends on your particular taste. Sometimes the pictures don%26#39;t do the places justice.
Hope you find a place you like, good luck!
Thanks everyone.
There will be six of us. We would like a 3 or 4 bedroom place. It does not have to be fancy. Just clean and neat. We also want a nice deck and porch area ot relax on in the evenings.
Bob - Thanks I will check out your place.
I disclosed my potentially conflicting interest by being an owner of a rental property, in accordance with what I consider to be good business ethics. I used Sandbridge for my rental last time. I know Siebert does rentals too. Is one better than the other?
If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate it. I want to book something soon.
Both companies have loyal customers, a few complaints, and both generally do a good job, in my experience. Siebert is a little bigger and has more rental choices. They describe properties in slightly different terms, and have slightly different business policies, but generally things are pretty similar, and I would be happy to rent from either.
Thanks Bob.
I think we are going with Sandbridge. We found 2 cute places in the bay/canal area we really liked.
Update- We decided to rent a house called Free Winds. Looks very nice from the pictures and good beach access. It is 4th row/waterview. I hope it is as nice as the pictures show.
