Going to Williamsburg during Spring Break?

Does anyone have any suggestions for restaurants that serve excellent food and are kid friendly?

I went online and came across Chritiana Campbell%26#39;s Tavern and Kings Arms Tavern. Is the food at either of these Taverns great?

While we enjoy the experience of dining in the taverns of Colonial Williamsburg, the food is not to everyone%26#39;s taste. They do have children%26#39;s menus available. Chownings Tavern might be the most fun for children.

Market Place Square has many restaurants, The Fat Canary, The Blue Talon, Barrets Seafood all get good reviews. We also enjoyed Seasons. Food for Thought gets really good reviews also.

Will you have a car? Jamestown Pie Factory, located near the Jamestown Settlement, has good pizza and homemade fruit and pecan pies. Campbell%26#39;s Tavern is known for its seafood. We were there last week, and most of the entrees were about $25.00 for adults. The dishes we had were good. King%26#39;s Arms is noted for it peanut soup, which I recommend if you have never tasted it. Our kids were always treated well in the taverns.

Shields Tavern on Duke of Gloucester Street has good colonial ';southern comfort'; food, along with a kids menu. All of the characters at Shields are very kid friendly -- Mr. Shields himself was seen singing a lullaby to a sleepy little one a few nights ago.

Enjoy your visit.

Hi, heartease --

I would use ';delicious'; to describe every meal we%26#39;ve ever had over many years in all 4 CW taverns and at the Williamsburg Inn. There is nothing weird about the food at all. Colonial Williamsburg knows the 21st-century guest!

And of course, the history and culture is unparalleled, simply not available anywhere else in the nation. Eating ';in the 18th century'; is one of the experiences I go to Williamsburg for. Small modern restaurants serving good or reasonably good food -- I can find them anywhere, anytime!

I wouldn%26#39;t call a trip to Williamsburg complete without at LEAST one tavern dining experience. Just heed the many warnings on this forum about advance reservations (1-800-HISTORY). Hope you have a great time!

Thank you ecsmon, RQT, BixDoc and nomonoloco for replying to my post and offering me great advice to dining options.
