Leaving car at CW Visitor's Center with Luggage in it

We%26#39;ll be driving in on a Sunday morning, and most likely will not be able to check into our hotel until the afternoon. How smart (or dumb) is it to leave our SUV at the Visitor%26#39;s Center with luggage in it?

Most places I wouldn%26#39;t consider doing this, but we%26#39;ve been to CW before and it seems like a ';safer'; place. Am I crazy?

You should have no problem parking at the Visitor%26#39;s Center. It is off the beaten path and patrolled, and I honestly have not heard of any incidents involving theft there. Many guests do the same thing -- pack up or arrive early -- and have no issues with their vehicle or its contents at the VC.

Thanks for the reply. It%26#39;s been a few years since we%26#39;ve been down, and I%26#39;ve never had to leave luggage there before. Nice to know CW is still that kind of place!

I think BixDoc is right.

Also, the Visitor%26#39;s Center parking lot is a pretty open area w/ pretty %26#39;high traffic%26#39; during the day. Such an open area with so many visitors constantly coming %26amp; going I think helps deter any %26#39;undesirable activity%26#39; as well.

When we checked out of the Woodlands, we moved our car/luggage to the visitors center parking lot with no problems.

Although we won%26#39;t be in CW till summer, from previous travel experiences we%26#39;ve always been able to leave our luggage at the hotel PRIOR to check in. This might also be an option should you have valuables that you might feel more comfortable leaving at the hotel--also you can lock your luggage there.

I just spent a wk in CW and the VC is very safe and had no problems with leaving your car/luggage there at all. Enjoy your self.
