I have a family of 5 (kids 8,13 %26amp; 15). I have had other post regarding picking a hotel for our DC vacation. I had finally made a decision to go with Embassy Suites even though it was more than I wanted to spend. We decided that we could manage the extra money. We were concerned about transportation going into DC and were sold on the idea of being able to walk to the metro station across the street. We now have had a couple of minor financial set backs but I am still determined to take the trip. I am now considering change to Quality Inn. The rooms look smaller but we can probably manage. My biggest concern is transporation. One review says that it is 5 minutes from metro stop but I have also heard that the parking lots fill up very early. Will this be a problem for us? We will be traveling in July. Thanks for any input.
Still having trouble picking a hotel: Quality Inn Mt-Vernon?
I%26#39;m going to go out on a limb here and tell you to reconsider. That hotel is not anywhere near metro and frankly is so far out of the area and you will be miserable. I would consider the Marriott Residence Inn on Duke Street. They serve a full breakfast, snacks and dinner. I think once you take into account the added cost of meals, the additional value is worth the cost. Both Embassy Suites/Residence Inn Old Town are great; centrally located, safe places to visit washington.
Reduce the days you visit, rather than reduce the quality of the time you spend here. You will not regret it.
