Transport from Newport News airport to Williamsburg

We will be arriving at the Newport News Airport on a Wed. in April and are wondering what would be the best way to get to Williamsburg. We hope not to rent a car.

best is always subjective. From PHF you have a few options - rental car, taxi and limo.

Taxi is about $25.

Where will you be a guest and how are you getting around once here? Although there are sguttle buses between the major attractions it%26#39;s not the best or quickest - most visitors benefit by having a car. You can go without a car, some do.

Taxis will outside the airport. If you want a limo arrange ahead of time - about $50.

Actually you could use the bus system - laughable since it would take hours and require many transfers between systems. Public transportation is not our strong suit!

At least you are arriving in PHF and not ORF - some do this and tacjle the tunnel - a nightmare at times.

The Newport News Airport web site (http://www.nnwairport.com/) lists the taxi companies and limo services under the ground transportation tab on the left of the screen. It might be worth your time to make a few phone calls prior to your visit, and arrange transportation -- many guests will set up transportation to/from their lodging as well as local trips with one cab company or limo service.

If you are staying at a Colonial Williamsburg property or purchase any of the CW -- Jamestown/Yorktown tickets, the colonial shuttle will be available to you, which runs to each of these sites.

Enjoy your visit.
