We will be driving over to the National Park on Sunday 5/24, from Arlington VA. Looking for suggestions on where to stay for one night, before we drive back out on Monday morning.
Ours is a group of 5 adults. We don%26#39;t want to end up spending more than 100-120$. I%26#39;ve looked at Skyland resort (Meadow lodge was all sold out), but it seems to be pricy. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Where to stay?Charlottesville, especially Route 29N area, is only 30-40 minutes from the Park. Use the TA hotel map feature to check motels in that vacinity which meet your needs, most major chains are located there as well as plenty of restaurants. You can also check out Luray, close to SNP also.
Happy trails
Where to stay?camping is great in the park. about $20 a night for up to 6 people
I have stayed a the Days Inn in Luray, right outside the Thorton Gap Park Entrance and it was OK. Prices are going to be high with it being the holiday weekend.

There is a nice Holiday Inn in Orange Virginia. Orange isn%26#39;t right off the Skyline Drive, but it isn%26#39;t far. (~30 miles)
If you go in to the park at Front Royal and then work your way south exiting the park at Route 33 heading east.
33 Will cross 29 at Ruckersville. Continue to Barboursville where you pick up 20 and head north into Orange.
If you are interested, James Madison%26#39;s home Montpelier is right on route 20 before you get to Orange.
From Orange, it is an easy drive up route 15 to Culpeper and then 29 which you can follow all the way back into Northern Virginia.
