We will be staying at the CW Embassy Suites this Saturday through Tuesday. Does anyone have any recommendations on places to eat dinner nearby. We will have our two boys 8%26amp;11 along. I am also nervous about the rain forecasted. Will we be outside most of the time while touring CW? Any suggestions for other things to do if it is raining all weekend? Also, we are considering stopping at the National Museum of the Marine Corps on Saturday when we fly into DC on the drive to CW. My boys love to play war outside and really want to go there, but I%26#39;m wondering if it is worth a stop. Has anyone been there?

FYI, some of the exhibits at the Marine Corps Museum are very graphic.
I wouldn%26#39;t take my boys (11 and 12) in there. Just want you to be prepared.

I%26#39;ve been to the Marine Corp Museum and while some exhibits are graphic, I found most of it to be very interesting and appropriate for most ages (but I did not have children with me). Airplane, helicopter, recreations of battle sites, all exhibits done very well. I did not view the films, so I%26#39;m not sure what images they contain.
If you need a place for lunch or dinner while in that area, consider the Globe %26amp; Laurel, food is good but the history can%26#39;t be beat. It has been a favorite of military personnel for many years and through several locations. Tons of interesting Armed Forces memorabilia, website is http://theglobeandlaurel.com
Williamsburg sites will be open no matter what the weather. You will, of course, be outside when you walk from site to site. Don%26#39;t let the rain stop you. Get the kids%26#39; picture in the stocks near the Courthouse before you take in an activity at the there. They will really like the Magazine since they like to play war...many guns here. They will also be impressed by the display of armaments at the Palace. There are many places to visit and things to do; you will have a good time. I hope you are going to tour the Jamestown and Yorktown sites also. Near Jamestown Settlement is Jamestown Pie Factory which has very good pizza. Enjoy your trip.
I took my son to the Marine Corps Museum when it opened. He was older than your boys, but I would see no problem with boys the ages of yours in 90% of the museum. The museum%26#39;s website has a lot of good information and photos for all of the exhibits at the museum, so you can check it out prior to your visit if you like.
