Stay another day?

Arrived yesterday afternoon after a long drive from NY and we are here for two more nites at Holiday Inn @ 515 Bypass Rd.(great hotel with spacious room and outstanding service as recommended on this wonderful forum,THANKS!!!)with check-out Thurs morning. We are debating if we should stay another nite in Williamsburg or drive down to Virginia Beach for the nite and then start heading north by driving over CBBT.It seems there is so much more to experience here. So far, we drove to Jamestown today and spent

1/2 day in area, so much to see and we recommend to all. Tomorrow will go to Yorktown and do the self-drive battlefield tours. So any ideas that we should

There are some excellent museums in Newport News which is a short drive from Williamsburg. We have visited the Army Transportation Museum on Ft. Eustis, the Virginia War Museum and the Mariners%26#39; Museum and I would recommend them all.

I agree with Longhorn%26#39;s post - Newport News neighbors Williamsburg %26amp; Yorktown %26amp; really does have some great things. I would recommend maybe right after you do the self-drive battlefield tours, because Newport News is just about 8 miles away from that. If you are gearing this trip solely on history, there is plenty in Newport News. But there are other great things too if you like museums, shopping, nature, or the arts. If it%26#39;s not too late to suggest, if you were heading straight from Williamsburg to Newport News, assuming you were heading up I64, I wanted to suggest you make a quick stop at the Newport News Visitor Center that is on the way- exit 250B- the staff there is fabulous to consult if you are visiting Newport News!
