We%26#39;ll be staying at the Hampton Inn South Alexandria, VA 5/13 to 5/17. We plan to take the metro to the city to sightsee. We plan on buying an old town trolley ticket as it is good for 2 days for the price of 1 to be able to see lots of stuff.
Does anyone know if a convenience store is close to the hotel to pick up some staples like beer, water, snacks? We%26#39;re very lucky as this hotel has a local shuttle that will transport to Old Town for dinner and to the metro to get to downtown for sights. I don%26#39;t know how late it runs.
Is there anything we can walk to if we want? Thanks very much Trip Advisor!
A Little Help with What's Around the Hotel
I can tell you that your hotel is in a very busy urban area. It%26#39;s immediately (just a fraction of a mile) outside the beltway (I/95/495 - which also forms the Alexandria city limits), almost right at the ramp onto the beltway.
There are several tall high-rise apartments nearby and across the road. The Huntington Metrorail station is 1 mile to the west. I%26#39;m not sure about stores within walking distance - I suggest you phone the hotel and ask. There is also a way to look up the distance to the closest businesses to any address in the USA, by using a website such as ';yahoo yellow pages';, or other sites. It%26#39;s been awhile since I%26#39;ve done this.
