Jamestown Forum

Hi Mary,

I think it%26#39;s wonderful that you have alerted all to a section of the travel forum that we might not know about...and I will definitely ';Come on down.';

Thanks for the heads-up, Mary. It%26#39;s a little bit confusing, imho, since Jamestown, Rhode Island, is what comes up first if you just search for ';Jamestown';. Glad you found it -- but for me it raises the question of how well it serves its purpose of helping people visit the Jamestowns in Virginia.

Since you are the most-committed person here on the subject, I think we should delegate you to look into the possibility of ganging Williamsburg and Jamestown together. Each can keep its name and page, but the posts would be ALSO be displayed on a combined page.

An example would be the Amalfi Coast Forums on TripAdvisor. The Amalfi Coast is comprised of one small town (Sorrento), two tiny towns (Positano and Amalfi) and a dozen or so speck-like villages (Ravello, for example). There are individual forums for several of the towns, and if you want to you can visit each forum separately. But you can also just enter ';Amalfi Coast'; and find a conflation of them all on one page. It%26#39;s faster and more efficient. And it seems a likely model for what we have in the Historic Triangle.

Just thinking out loud ....

Good morning, everyone

When I googled trip advisor forum jamestown virginia it popped right up for me.

Mary--thank you for your willingness to be the Jamestown expert. All of us get comprehensive info. when you address questions concerning a place you obviously love.

Hi, colonialgirl -- that part about Google is good news for the Virginia Jamestown. Just don%26#39;t mention it to the Rhode Island Jamestown! :-)

Actually, my reference was to the difficulty of finding the Jamestown, Virginia forum by using the search function on TripAdvisor.

I think both forums would be enriched by some proximity to each other. And Marymac%26#39;s many fine Jamestown contributions would reach absolutely everyone with an interest.

Sorry, colonialgirl - I just realized you included ';Virginia'; in your Google search. No wonder it worked so well! :-)

Hi, Nomo

Glad it helped in finding the forum.

Colonialgirl

thank you so much for letting us know,Mary. I didn%26#39;t even think about trying to look up each area seperatly. As for Jamestown being looked down upon by Bridge for having its own forum, just because it is a historical tourist that isn%26#39;t a blooming city doesn%26#39;t make the need for forum help any less. Besides, if jamestown didn%26#39;t exist here, we probably would not either.

thank you for the contribution, Mary.
