Is the Beach busy this time of year?

We are planning a trip with our family and have a autistic son who loves the outdoors and the beach. However he doesnt like it so busy that he feels crowded it makes him anxious and nervous. I would like to know if May is the right time to be taking this trip or should we have went earlier in the year?

It%26#39;s warm but still not as crowded as later so it may be a good time for your family. Do check www.vbfun.com and note that there are festivals several weekends in May in case they would determine where you would prefer to stay along the boardwalk. Weekdays are usually quieter than weekends.

No not as crowded, but the temp of the water is still pretty chilly. You can also venture to the north of the boardwalk area to streets 45th to 85th. It is the residential section-no lifeguards-but much less crowded. Should be hardly anyone there on weekdays. Just adhere to parking signs.

Thank you very much for getting back to us so fast. I am sure our family will have a great time there in the coming weeks. Again Thanks :)

Hi,

We also take a child with Autism to the beach. The south end (5th Street area) is less busy than the north end (10th Street and higher numbers).

You may want to check out ';SurfersHealing.org';. They are coming to Va. Beach on August 15th. It%26#39;s a great, free event! We%26#39;ve taken our friend for the past 3 years. Is a wonderful time to bond with other families of kids with Autism and the kids have a fabulous time! If you are interested, be sure to register on the first day they open it, as it gets

filled quickly.
