Great Hopes Plantation

We will be visiting in June. Can we expect that this plantation will always have something going on? Can we visit any time? How long would you expect to spend at this location to really explore it? TIA!

Great Hopes Plantation

Yes, always something going on there. In the summer, there are crops being tended, some animals on the farm, carpentry and woodworking, etc., all depending on the needs of the plantation. You%26#39;ll learn a lot about the poorer plantations, both from the white and the black perspectives. You can spend anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or more. The interpreters there are very engaging, so you may end up spending much time talking with them. Currently, Great Hopes is closed on Wednesday; the opening times for all of the sites will be listed in the weekly guide, ';This Week.';

You haven%26#39;t asked about the brickmakers; your younger children may get the chance to stomp mud and make bricks, and many children find it a lot of fun!

Sounds wonderful! Thanks Zoey!
