Getting to Cape Charles

We will be traveling to Cape Charles in late July. We are coming from Winchester, VA. What is the best way to get to Cape Charles? What time of day do you want to travel in order to miss traffic? Thanks

I would check mapquest for your route.

Cape Charles has no traffic concerns that I have ever encountered. Rt 13 is an easy route.

Getting to Cape Charles

It looks like around a 5-hour drive. Your biggest issue will be if you come across on I-64, running into rush hour. HRBT (Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel) can be really busy, so try to be across that area before rush hour (probably by 3:30 or so) and you should be fine.

Thanks for the help. We%26#39;ll probably pick up I-64 outside of Richmond and try to hit it late morning (10-11). Anything else I should know about the area. This will be our first time there.
