Atlantic Ave., Boardwalk, North? South?

Help...I%26#39;m looking at oceanfront hotels for only 2 days mid-Aug. but don%26#39;t know which section of the boardwalk area is best. Between which streets, north end or south end?

Atlantic Ave., Boardwalk, North? South?

For most of the resort area Atlantic Ave is the front of the hotels and the boardwalk is the back. Ideally, you walk in to a hotel, like the newer Springhill Suites, and see the boardwalk and sand and ocean in front of you looking through the glass that is the back wall of the lobby/seating area.

Further north you will have Atlantic and Oceanfront.

It%26#39;s quieter the further north you go in the resort area...also the further south you go.

From 17th to 25th on Atlantic you%26#39;ll have Beach Street USA nightly in July and August....professionals who won the auditions...jugglers, people walking on stilts, musicians.

There are entertainment stages at 7th, 13th, 17th, 24th, 25th and 31st with nightly entertainment during the summer.

What%26#39;s best is relative. What are you looking for in your stay?

We are also looking for an Oceanfront hotel for a few days around the 4th of July. Is it really busy then? Is it nice to be there for the 4th?

We need a room that will accomodate 2 adults, a 16 year old boy and 14 year old girl so I assume we%26#39;ll need 2 double beds and a roll away. We just need something clean on the beach and close to the activity like nightly entertainment, a nice selection of restaurants, within walking distance and possibly some sight seeing. On site dining isn%26#39;t required but a decent breakfast would be nice. In room wifi is required as is a refrigerator. A microwave would be nice. Price isn%26#39;t a problem (obviously we want the best deal possible) but when I read the reviews they are SO MIXED I don%26#39;t know what to expect so I%26#39;m hoping the experts can help me narrow it down.

Easy enough because the Boardwalk is not that long, and every hotel along Atlantic is automatically in walking distance of restaurants, shops, and nightlife. You might try the hotel association website (vbhma.com) which has links to all the hotels. The nice thing about this site is you can search by the amenities you desire. Some hotels that get consistently good comments here in the forum are SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, Sandcastle, The Capes, Courtyard, Residence Inn, and I%26#39;m sure there are others but these come to mind.

There is free entertainment all along the Boardwalk during the summer. You can find a schedule at beachstreetusa.com and at vbfun.com (click on Events). July 4 will be busy, but the beach is wide, so come on down - there%26#39;s plenty of room for you.
