antique's

Hello I heard there is a huge antique mall in Williamsburg. Is it in Williamsburg? Is it a days worth of looking at them? We love antique shopping! thanks :)

There is a large antique mall at 500 Lightfoot Road, just off Richmond Road/US-60 going west outside Williamsburg. It%26#39;s called the Williamsburg Antique Mall. You probably could spend several hours there, as you look down aisle after aisle of cases and displays. There is a tea room for lunch, so you needn%26#39;t leave should you get hungry.

There are reviews for this place on TripAdvisor here: tripadvisor.com/…TOPC

There are other antique stores in the area, but this one has a wide variety of merchandise from many dealers in one stop.

while the antique mall uses the word antique in the name, few vendors have true antiques. it%26#39;s a lot of ';stuff'; and could occupy hours on end.

lisburne lane antiques in gloucester (20 min or so) and swan tavern in yorktown are owned by the same family - true high quality antiques.

lots of other places with ';stuff'; and consignment shops such as scavenger%26#39;s paradise, chickadee%26#39;s, aladin%26#39;s, velvet shoestring.

Do you want antiques or a mixed bag?

I like antiques and I also like flea market type places. I collect a ruby crystal and I can only find them in antique places, it%26#39;s sort of like kings crown but it%26#39;s prettier. We will be there for 7 days, going to BG,CW and the other historical places but, we thought a day with this antique mall would be nice also. Maybe drop the kids off at the water park, since they hate antique shops, and spend the day. :)

I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s a full day - you might, check it out and you can always leave when you want. Call them ahead of time, they will let vendors know what you%26#39;re looking for.

One would think an 18th century historic town would have true antique shops, but Williamsburg does not. Yes, there is an Antique Mall just outside of town in Lightfoot, but it is a glorified garage sale/flea market. Bridgefan listed some options if you want authentic antiques.

If you are not particular regarding whether the items are truly antique or not, but like collectibles with the %26#39;antique-look%26#39;, you might also try the following stores: Williamsburg At Home, Williamsburg Craft House, Williamsburg Celebrations %26amp; Everything Williamsburg. You can also check out the website www.williamsburgmarketplace.com to see if they would have things you would be interested in (or to order online if you prefer).

Well, we could quibble about the definition of ';antique.'; Williamsburg Antique Mall does have some antiques, but many, if not most, of the items are vintage or collectibles rather than antiques in a stricter definition of the term. Nonetheless, the place does have items that many would consider as antiques, and can be fun to look around and see things you had in childhood, or your great-grandparents had.
