What is the best way to buy Colonial Williamsburg tickets? - When you get there- or over the internet? Do hotels sell them? Do they have any discount tickets? We have not been to Williamsburg in many years so do not know the protocol now.
Where to buy Williamsburg tickets?
A recommendation is to purchase your CW tickets at the Visitor%26#39;s Center, adjacent to the restored area. In this way, informed customer service employees can advise you of the different ticket options, as well as sign you up for evening programs and dining reservations.
Tickets are also available at the CW hotel properties; depending on when you are planning to visit, discounts for CW hotel guests may be available. There are also combined tickets, which include entrance to CW, Busch Gardens and Water Country, Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown.
A good place to start your trip planning is at the Colonial Williamsburg website, www.HISTORY.org.
If you know what tickets you want, you may also purchase tickets at the website.
Enjoy your visit.
Where to buy Williamsburg tickets?
Hi Proviso,
If you check with the Visitor%26#39;s Center, find out if they offer discounts that you may apply for, i.e. AAA, government employee, military, AARP, etc. Then, I would suggest also checking with the hotel you are staying at- most of the hotels that carry them offer them at a discount for their guests. Most of the hotels that carry them also offer special all-inclusive packages, which can save you some money too. If you don%26#39;t know where exactly you are staying yet, if you at least have some ideas, call the hotels directly to ask. Even other hotels outside of Williamsburg offer the tickets too. (I know the Point Plaza in Newport News does, and they offer them at a nice discount.)
There is little advantage to purchasing tickets ahead of time unless you can get them at a discounted price. During the winter CW offers internet discounts or you can purchase at your local AAA office or military can purchase on base at a discounted rate. Some off-property hotels advertise that you can purchase CW passes there and some are discounted but most are not. Ask beforehand. If you purchase anywhere other than CW you will receive a voucher which then must be redeemed at any CW ticket office. If you stay in a CW property you can purchase a length-of-stay pass for $29.95 per adult and 14.95 per youth or 25% off an annual (Liberty) pass at any CW ticket office. Bring your hotel guest ID card issued at check-in. Unless you stay 4 or more nights, then passes are free. Otherwise, the discounts offered at CW are 10% for seniors (over 62) and military, 50% for the handicapped and educators (not law enforcement, firefighters, nurses or government employees). AAA discounts are no longer available on site. If you are employed by a museum or historic site (employed, not a donor or a member) you can receive a comped pass. Bring your credentials for verification. These are the only discounts currently available.
