weather

Hello, Just wondering how the weather is towards the end of May. Kids are wondering should they bring some jeans or just shorts? Here we live in shorts...Especially towards the end of May, its very humid here in Louisiana. Thanks :)

check your favorite website a few minutes before packing, the only way to know.

We have many summer days where it is 100+ degrees and 100% humidity - not always by the end of May, can happen. The humidity might be very high by then. The hisotrical averages are just that - history. no one knows what the exact will be during your visit.

May here should be similar to what you experience in Louisiana -- humid and warm. Rarely does it get above 100 degrees as someone else suggests, but it is humid.

Enjoy your visit.

Hi Tamsteve -- welcome to Williamsburg. I did check weather.com for you and if you have average weather May 23-29, you can expect overnight lows of about 57 degrees and daytime highs of 68 degrees. Figure a day or two of rain, also. You can compare these figures with the averages for your home town on weather.com or many other weather websites.

Six days away from home with children who have no wardrobe flexibility would worry me. Since you are driving, try to squeeze in a tote bag of extra pants!

Have fun.

Beg to differ, but I cannot remember a day in the end of May with a high of 68...more like 80! Although this year has been very cold and rainy so who knows.

Plan for great weather...high 75-80, humidity is not bad in May in comparison to Louisiana. If you were coming from a dry climate it would feel humid but for you it will be relatively the same or less. You will rarely need pants, we usually pack them away by the end of April. Bring one pair for the kids, then you know they will never need them! Have a great time~

Hi tamsteve,

Basically, as I%26#39;m sure you can gather from the multiple different answers, layers are the best for wardrobe packing if visiting VA! The weather temp is very unpredictable here. For example, we are already supposed to reach the high 80%26#39;s this weekend, which is very unseasonable, but then again, so were the low 50%26#39;s that we had last week- but that%26#39;s VA weather for ya! Temps frequently go above, or below, their %26#39;normal%26#39; average, sometimes even within the same day, like the 70%26#39;s to 50%26#39;s drop we got midday this past Saturday! Layers are best, no matter what the season in VA!
