Family friendly Hotel/B&B

We%26#39;re traveling with 3 children (5,7 and 10) and need a place to stay after visiting Monticello. It%26#39;s our last stop on a 10 day tour - - just looking for a comfy bed and a nice breakfast.

Suggestions for either are greatly appreciated.

Did you mean to post this in the Harrisonburg forum? Monticello is in Charlottesville.

Also, not sure when your trip is planned, but keep in mind that there are many colleges in both of those areas and they will all be having graduations coming up in May. If your travel plans are for that time period, you may need to really widen your circle for accomodations as many hotels will be booked.

We%26#39;re going to start our journey back home after our visit to Monticello. We%26#39;re hoping to put some miles behind us before we stop to sleep.

I stay frequently in a Holiday Inn in Orange. It would be a few miles under your belt from Charlottesville. It is a very nice HI which is not very old, and is built up on a hill with beautiful views of the VA countryside.

As a previous poster mentioned, be concerned about your travel time. If you are May, you will be competing with college graduations. The HI in Orange serves Woodberry Forest School which is a prep school nearby. Depending on what they have going on may make a room tough.

We%26#39;ll be there in early July.

Also - we had considered stopping by Luray caverns. Too far? Worth a visit?
