Clarion Hotel?

Another question regarding a Clarion no longer on the Choice Hotels website. This one is the one located at 500 Merrimac Trail and by the sounds of the horrible reviews this hotel gets, I wouldn%26#39;t be surprised it if it closed. If anyone knows if the hotel did indeed close or now operates under a different name, please let me know.

The Clarion at 500 Merrimac Trail is still open. It%26#39;s not showing up on the website, but it still has the Clarion name on the building, and the courtesy van still has Clarion on it. The phone number listed for it is 757-220-1410, and it was answered with ';Clarion Hotel and Conference Center.'; It also has it%26#39;s own website, http://www.williamsburgclarion.com

Is it possible that the hotel is undergoing renovations? Sometimes they will temporarily remove a hotel%26#39;s listing from the Choice Hotels website if it is undergoing a major renovation. I did notice that the hotel is not accepting on-line reservations at this time.

I contacted Choice Hotels this morning about the Clarion in Williamsburg and was told that the hotel is no longer a part of the Choice Hotel chain. I am going to try to contact the hotel directly and see what%26#39;s going on.

I have come to the conclusion that this hotel has closed, as reservations are no longer being taken and I have tried contacting the hotel via email and haven%26#39;t gotten a response. Based on the absolutely negative reviews of this hotel on here, I would not be surprised if the hotel has decided to close.

I have finally found the answer to this question. The hotel is still open and is now operating as the George Washington Hotel and Conference Center.

Just an update for my own question in case anyone else is wondering about this hotel. In early April 2008, the George Washington Inn will be called Lexington Hotel-George Washington Inn %26amp; Conference Center. The hotel has a webpage at lexingtonhotels.com/Destinations/40/Overview… .

Hi, my name is Bernie Beck and I am the new Revenue Enhancement Specialist here at the Lexington George Washington Inn. The hotel has undergone a huge renovation. The pool is now a saltwater pool. the rooms all have Sealy pillowtop mattresses (either one king size or two queen size), the furniture and decor in all rooms was upgraded, the lobby, restaurant and lounge were also completely redone. Our correct website address is lgwinn.com. That too is undergoing renovations to get better pictures on the site so people can see what we really look like. We are instituting a childrens program this summer which will include movie nights, pool party nights, and decorate a cookie night. I invite anyone who may have had a previous less than satisfactory experience to give us another try. This tiem we are getting it right.
