My family and I will be driving from NYC area to Williamsburg and stopping in Fredericksburg overnight to break up the drive. Can anyone recommend a good place for breakfast? I%26#39;d be particularly interested in a spot that served more southern items like biscuits with gravy and country ham that we%26#39;d be unlikely to encounter up here. Thanks.

There is a Cracker Barrel in Fredericksburg and there is also one in Dumfries which is just off I-95 about a 20-30 minute trip north on I-95.
Don%26#39;t know if you have Cracker Barrels up your way, and yes, they are a chain, but I think their food is good, and they serve the kind of food you are asking for.

I am sorry-I had your direction backwards. Forget the Dumfries one. I was thinking you were heading TO NYC from Williamsburg.
Thanks. There are some Cracker Barrels in Pennsylvania and we like them very much. The food is good and cheap and that%26#39;s just what we were looking for.. There%26#39;s actually an outlet close to where we%26#39;ll be stopping for the night. My kids also get a real kick out of their country store and I like it cause we can buy a couple of items for them without breaking the bank.
Since you are heading south, there is also a CB at Ashland which is south of Fredericksburg, but north of Richmond.

This would work if you got an early start and didn%26#39;t want breakfast right away. (We do that sometimes-especially kids who are somewhat comatose for a while after waking up.)
