wanted affordable family motel..w/extra sleep sofa in room

My family will be traveling to Richmond June 10th-14th. Some of our activities will be focused downtown...hotels there way too expensive...wouldn%26#39;t mind something a ways out West Broad (even Short Pump), or possibly down south toward Chester, as we will be visiting friends down that way as well (nothing around Phillip Morris...the smell you know!!)

I%26#39;m looking for a clean non-smoking room in a decent neighborhood w/2 doubles or and an extra sleep sofa (there%26#39;s 5 of us...rollaways are lousy). Pool would be nice...as well as any other ';extra amenities';. In room fridge would be nice too. Thing is we%26#39;d prefer to spend $90 or less per night (it would be 4 nights...some places will ';cut a deal'; for extra days).

Any suggestions or recommendations??? I%26#39;m on dial-up and this search is taking FOREVER!!!!

The closest thing that I could come up with that I could recommend is the Comfort Suites in Glen Allen, which is just north of Richmond. They are showing a suite with 2 queen beds and a sleep sofa for $114.99 a night for your 4 night stay. You%26#39;ll also get a microwave and a refrigerator, and an indoor pool. I think this price is a really good deal.

You may find something cheaper, but there a lot of hotels in Richmond that I would definitely NOT recommend, either because of their condition, location, or safety. If you are considering something else, let me know and I%26#39;ll give you my honest assessment.

Thanks. Yeah, I lived in the Richmond area for 20 years, I know there are lots of undesirable areas. With our budget, we%26#39;ve decided our best bet is to go with a room with 2 or doubles, and then just go to Wal-Mart and pick up an ';air bed';. Even if we have to get rid of it before we fly home...we%26#39;ll have saved a bunch (I can even pack extra sheets in a suitcase).

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I found two good suggestions: The Days Inn at Chesterfield Town Center shows rates of $68-$76/night for your dates and includes breakfast. It is located by a safe mall with a brand new Fresh Market, Dicks, Lowes, and stores at the mall nearby as well as Walmart probably less than a mile away. I haven%26#39;t stayed there because we live nearby, but my VERY PICKY neighbors did when we lost power for 5 days and they said it was good.

The other suggestion that came up was the Wingate by Wyndham in Short Pump which is ranked #5 on Tripadvisor. Rates for your dates were $69-$90/night.
