Dixie's Tavern - Actually A Great Bar/Club Waterside

Hi:

We are looking for the following %26#39;date night%26#39; option for Sunday night (seems a lot of places are closed though).

Dinner: Thinking Monastery. Will have to park there or somewhere close and walk between dinner then drinks.

After dinner would like to go somewhere to have a few drinks - not college crowd, but some good music. Don%26#39;t mind if it%26#39;s a club/college atmosphere though.

Music: Top 40 preferably but NOT hip hop, rnb style.

Atmosphere: Bar or club where we can dress up a bit, not posh, but not jeans t-shirt kind of bar.

Anyone heard if Dixies is still in existence and is it worth visiting? Is it safe to wlk around this area.

I think Dixie%26#39;s is closed although it%26#39;s still shown on the Norfolk nightlife page, check out the places listed, http://www.norfolkdowntown.com/nightlife/ for some that might interest you. The downtown Norfolk is safe to walk, lots of bars and restaurants. Enjoy.
