Best route from Lynchburg to Sklyine Drive:Skyland

Will be leaving Raleigh NC area in the morning, have to make a stop in Lynchburg on our way to Skyland Resort on the Skyline Drive. What route to take from Lynchburg? We will not be in any hurry. Virgina experts, what would you suggest?

I would take Route 29N and at Ruckersville (above Charlottesville) take Route 33 into Shenandoah NP. From that Park entrance you are only about 10-12 miles from Skyland. If you want to enjoy more of Skyline Drive, take 29N to route 250W toward Waynesboro and enter the Park and Skyline Drive at Rockfish Gap. At this point you will be about 65 beautiful miles from Skyland.

RoseSayer, If you want to enjoy some of the Blue Ridge Parkway, just take 29N to 60W, enter the parkway at Buena Vista. At Waynesboro the BRP becomes Skyline Drive. Hope this helps.
